What is a Business Incubator

An organization designed to nurture , support and accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial start-up companies in a protected environment through an array of business support resources and services that could include physical workspace, capital, equipment, one-on-one business coaching, common admin services, technology demonstration and transfer and network connections. Incubation periods can take up to 2 years.

Business incubation programmes are often sponsored by private companies, municipal entities, public institutions such as SOC’s, colleges and universities. SEDA supports more than 48 incubators throughout South Africa.
